The Case Manager oversees and supports the entire journey of an Intern, from orientation through program completion, which includes: assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and adjusting (as necessary), to meet intern’s health and human service needs. As a part of the Intern Support Team, this person works closely with the Education Manager to ensure Intern's schools needs are being met, as well as Restaurant General Manager and Restaurant Case Manager to support restaurant and catering operations, ensuring interns are properly trained/scheduled for work. Case Managers report to the Director of Programs. They work collaboratively with other team members within the restaurant and across the organization to ensure the needs of the interns are met by taking a holistic approach. Case Managers are also responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with community organizations that provide services and support for interns.

Key Responsibilities
Orientation
Admits new interns during orientation by reviewing records and assisting with application to internship process
Actively participates in new intern orientation, including working after hours on assigned evenings.
Case Management & Intern Support
Provides comprehensive case management services, including assessing intern needs, developing individualized treatment plans, coordinating services and making appropriate referrals.
Conducts initial and ongoing family visits, as needed.
Monitors and supports interns’ academic progress
Manages a caseload by verifying attendance, observing and evaluating interventions, advocating for services and entitlements, securing additional resources, facilitating enrichment participation and intervening in crisis situations.
Communicates intern progress through weekly and monthly meetings and evaluations, sharing outcomes, challenges and recommendations with appropriate staff.
Data, Evaluation & Reporting
Collects, maintains and manages intern performance data in approved databases for reporting, grant writing, community partner presentations and donor communications.
Implements tools for coaching and assessing intern progress in life and workforce readiness skills.
Workforce Development & Program Transitions
Facilitates mock interviews, résumé development and job readiness activities for assigned interns.
Prepares interns for program exit by reviewing and strengthening graduation, externship and transition plans.
Oversees post-program job placement for assigned interns, including tracking outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
Works closely with the Restaurant Program Manager to ensure completion of restaurant assessments and track intern progress during work shifts.
Observes and supports at least one restaurant service night per month.
Family Engagement & Enrichment
Plans and leads Family Meal instruction on designated days.
Participates in Family Meal when not leading instruction by supporting behavior redirection, engagement and relationship-building.
Participates in enrichment and learning activities with interns, including chaperoning and transportation support during weekdays, evenings and weekends, as needed.
Outreach, Recruitment & Volunteer Engagement
Supports outreach and recruitment efforts, including events that may require evening or weekend work and engagement with juvenile detention facilities, probation officers and community networks.
Assists with mentor and volunteer initiatives by ensuring interns are matched with mentors and tracking engagement and participation.
Professional Development & Organizational Contribution
Maintains up-to-date professional knowledge through training, publications, networking and participation in professional organizations.
Enhances departmental and organizational effectiveness by taking initiative, embracing new responsibilities and identifying opportunities to add value.
Completes additional duties as assigned to support program success.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Demonstrated commitment and compassion for Café Momentum’s mission and youth.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Behavioral Science, Criminology, Counseling, Law, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration, or in a job-related field of study
2-5 (two to five) years of work-related experience;
Bilingual Preferred; and
Licensed Social Worker Preferred
Special Requirements
This position requires working with interns/juveniles who may have committed dangerous/aggressive acts; applicant should possess a high tolerance for working in a possibly emotionally demanding/stressful work environment;
Working knowledge of community resources and the unique needs of the youth affected by the criminal justice system;
Flexible and a team player;
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats;
Ability to establish working relationships with community partners;
Dependable transportation, current driver’s license and auto liability insurance;
Must complete background check screening; and
Must pass all portions (physical/written) of the Dallas County Juvenile Training Academy and/or Café Momentum, to continue employment on all standards related to PREA and Ethics for specific positions.
