Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services. Responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining professional nursing standards, supporting patient safety initiatives, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The role includes coordinating patient treatment plans, supervising delegated care activities, supporting patient and family communication, and contributing to performance improvement and clinical excellence initiatives.
The Registered Nurse may work across multiple units based on operational needs and competencies while ensuring continuity of care and adherence to healthcare regulations and nursing practice standards. Demonstrates leadership, mentorship, and clinical expertise in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care services
Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care plans and treatment activities
Maintain accurate patient documentation and nursing records
Deliver direct patient care according to nursing standards and healthcare protocols
Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately to healthcare team members
Ensure completion of delegated care activities according to established standards
Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in patient conditions
Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families
Support patient advocacy, safety, and quality care initiatives
Participate in orientation, mentorship, and training of staff members
Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned
Participate in performance improvement and clinical practice initiatives
Maintain compliance with infection control procedures and healthcare regulations
Utilize data entry and patient information systems as required
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure effective patient outcomes
Work Environment
Hospital and patient care environment
Fast-paced clinical setting
May work across multiple patient care units based on staffing needs
Requirements
Minimum Requirements / Skills
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
BSN preferred
Valid Registered Professional Nurse license required
Minimum two years of Medical-Surgical RN experience required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Infection Control Training required
Specialty certification preferred
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to coordinate care in fast-paced healthcare settings
Leadership, teamwork, and mentoring skills
Basic computer and patient documentation system proficiency
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
