Description

Towson University (TU) is one of the nation's top 100 public universities. Located north of Baltimore, TU currently enrolls over 22,000 students and is the second-largest university in the prestigious University System of Maryland. The Registrar's Office at Towson University is committed to providing the highest level of service to students, faculty and staff in order to facilitate student success, teaching excellence, and administrative integrity. The Registrar's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Reenrollment Specialist. This position is responsible for managing the Reenrollment Process for both undergraduate and graduate students returning to Towson after an absence. Position will also oversee the following special registration programs: Nursing Associate-to-Bachelor's, National Student Exchange, Study Abroad, Study Away, and the Freshman Transition Program. Position is responsible for running administrative processes in PeopleSoft including term activation, registration appointments, and student groups.

Responsibilities and Duties

Manage the entire Reenrollment Process. Process online reenrollment applications and related paperwork. Screen, evaluate, and input undergraduate and graduate students in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Answer phone, in-person, chat and email inquiries from former students who have missed at least one regular semester. Coordinate reenrollment outreach and marketing to former students. Troubleshoot any issues with the Salesforce Reenrollment application and work with IT to make updates to the form as needed.

Attain and master knowledge regarding all academic policy related to reenrollment including grade calculation, warning/suspensions/dismissal policy, catalog policy, non-degree/degree candidate standing, etc. Schedule reenrolled students for registration and set advising holds. Handle all follow-up correspondence, transcripts and verification of academic progress. Oversee the collection of the reenrollment fee. Train backup staff and delegate work during high volume periods.

Create the registration appointment chart and student appointment assignments for approximately 21,000 undergraduate and graduate students using PeopleSoft for fall and spring terms. This initiative requires high levels of accuracy and attention-to-detail.

Support new student and transfer orientation - attend meetings regularly and collaborate with Admissions, Academic Advising, and other internal TU constituents regarding new student registration.

Oversee special registration programs. Coordinate registration, grades and withdrawals for the Nursing Associate-to-Bachelor's program. Support Freshman Transition Program registration, and serve as the main point-of-contact for the Registrar's Office with University Admissions and CCBC. Manage reverse transfer process with Maryland Community Colleges for students who transferred to TU from community college, but have not received their associate degree. Communicate with the appropriate Community College offices and representatives as required.

Serve as coordinator for the National Student Exchange (NSE), Study Abroad and Study Away programs. Process registration, paperwork, grade posting, transcript notations, and all other administrative aspects of these programs including participating in off-campus meetings when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Four year's of experience providing administrative support
  • Must have superior customer services skills. Must be technically proficient. Must have high attention to detail

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft (SIS), Perceptive Content (imaging), Salesforce (CRM), Chat, DocuSign, and Forms Assembly a plus


Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Salary and Benefits
