Unit Details * *Department:* Skilled Nursing Unit, Wound Care and RT on site * *Unit Size:* 23 beds, 45 staff members * *Nurse‑to‑Patient Ratio:* 5:1 Position Details * *Job Title:* RN Charge * *Status:* Full‑Time * *Schedule:* Day Shift, (3) 12‑hour shifts per week, 6A-6P Key Responsibilities * Serve as the *Charge Nurse* for the Skilled Nursing Unit, providing clinical leadership and operational oversight during assigned shifts * Coordinate patient care and patient flow while ensuring safe staffing and appropriate resource utilization * Support, mentor, and guide nursing staff, promoting teamwork and professional development * Collaborate closely with physicians, case management, therapy services, and other interdisciplinary team members * Ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care and adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and standards * Monitor patient conditions, address clinical concerns, and escalate issues as needed * Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive unit culture Qualifications * Graduate of an accredited *Registered Nursing program* * *Current Texas RN license* * *3 years of clinical experience required* * Previous experience in *Skilled Nursing, MS acute care, or long‑term acute care, *strongly preferred * Prior *charge nurse or leadership experience* preferred * Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills * Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and staff support About Us Here at Baylor Scott & White Health we promote the well-being of all individuals, families, and communities.
