This PRN role is ideal for an experienced RN looking for *flexibility while maintaining hands-on clinical skills* in a fast-paced imaging environment. As the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, we empower you to live well. *Our Core Values* * We serve faithfully * We never settle * We are in it together * We make an impact *What You'll Do* * Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing *CT and MRI procedures*, including assessment, IV placement, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs and cardiac rhythms * Support advanced imaging procedures such as *Cardiac CT (CCTA), MRI with pacemakers, MR Enterography, and lumbar puncture/myelogram*, ensuring patient safety and protocol compliance * Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including *recovery care and recognition of acute changes or complications* * Administer medications per protocol (e.g., cardiac meds, glucagon) and collaborate with Radiologists and imaging teams for optimal exam timing and outcomes * Prepare and review patient charts, verify orders, and ensure all pre-procedure requirements are met * Educate patients on procedures, expectations, and discharge instructions to promote a positive experience * Respond to *urgent or emergent patient situations* within the imaging department, including contrast reactions, extravasations, and rapid responses * Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and imaging systems while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards * Support department workflow by assisting with IV starts, patient transport, and team collaboration as needed *Key Success Factors* * Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize patient care needs * Experience in *procedural, radiology, or acute care nursing* preferred * Ability to respond quickly to acute patient changes * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and departmental needs * Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities * Commitment to patient-centered care and safety *Benefits* Benefits may vary based on PRN status and hours worked and may include: * 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% * Tuition Reimbursement * Professional development opportunities * Access to Baylor Scott & White career pathways *Qualifications* *Education* * Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program *Experience* * Minimum of 1 year RN experience preferred (procedural, radiology, or acute care setting) *Certifications & Licensure* * *Registered Nurse (RN)* - Texas license required * *Basic Life Support (BLS)* within 30 days of hire
