The University of Nevada, Reno seeks a Manager, Prospect Development to play a key role in advancing the University’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position provides strategic research, analysis, and reporting to support donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across colleges and units. The Manager produces accurate and timely prospect research deliverables—including biographical profiles, leadership briefings, and duediligence reports—to inform fundraising strategy and decisionmaking. By analyzing wealth indicators, philanthropic giving patterns, and engagement data, this role supports capacity ratings and effective portfolio management.
The Manager of Prospect Development also compiles and reports on fundraiser activity, proposal progress, and overall pipeline health, delivering data-driven insights aligned with Advancement goals. The position conducts proactive prospect identification and recommends prospective donors based on demonstrated capacity and affinity. Through collaboration with Advancement colleagues, adherence to ethical research standards, and participation in divisionwide initiatives, this role contributes to the overall impact of UNR’s fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare prospect research deliverables, including donor profiles, briefings, and duediligence reports
Analyze wealth, giving, and engagement data to assess donor capacity and support portfolio strategy
Identify and recommend new prospective donors
Track and report on fundraiser activity, proposals, and pipeline health
Provide datadriven insights while adhering to ethical research standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree + two (2) years of related experience, OR
Master’s Degree + one (1) year of related experience
Related Experience: Prospect research, prospect management, fundraising, development operations, data analysis, nonprofit management, or related fields.
Location: This is an On-Site position, but the university is open to the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, consistent with institutional policies and operational needs.
Compensation Grade
Administrative Faculty – B
Salary is $70,000 - $85,000, commensurate with education and experience.
