Description
The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a full time Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join the faculty of the Division and develop a practice at OHSU Hospital. The successful applicant will have a significant interest in aortic pathology and procedures and will participate in the Aorta Program at OHSU, which functions as a referral center for complex aortic conditions in the region. Advanced training or substantial experience with thoracic aortic procedures is preferred. Mid-career and junior faculty candidates will be considered.
OHSU is the only academic medical center in the state of Oregon and functions as a tertiary and quaternary referral center for the region. OHSU is located in Portland, Oregon which has a vibrant cultural scene and enjoys a mild climate with close proximity to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

- The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at OHSU manages a Cardiac Surgery Network that performs 1,500 cardiac surgical procedures annually. Our surgeons have expertise in heart valve surgery, transcatheter techniques for heart valve repair and replacement, coronary artery bypass, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices and aortic surgery. Our team is well-known throughout the region and acts as a regional center for the care of complex patients with advanced stages of disease.
- The successful applicant will have familiarity with a broad range of cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary revascularization, valve repair, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
- Applicants must have Board certification or eligibility.
Both Oregon and Washington state medical licenses will be required and reimbursable.
